Harold Camping Apologies For False Prophecies Regarding The Rapture

October 31. 2011

Harold Camping

Radio broadcaster, Harold Camping, has done the right thing, in apologizing for the false prophecies he twice issued this year, regarding the rapture and return of Jesus. It led to some making jokes about him in the mainstream press. Camping repeatedly prophesized what day the event would transpire and was wrong each time.

Compendius is of the view, one is not to do such things, as it is not in line with the integrity of the Bible. Camping openly went against the Bible, where it is stated no one knows the exact moment of Christ’s return. Camping should refrain from making such prophecies in the future. The Bible indicates the way to know a true prophet is the things said prophet prophecies, not guesses, happens.

The main principles the Lord wants people to take from the Bible is living life to the fullest in a decent way, like each day is your last, becoming a better person and following in His ways, through placing one’s faith in Jesus and following his example of integrity. He also wants people to change their unethical behavior.

Most would agree, the world would be a much better place if people were faithful to each other in marriage (not breaking each others’ hearts), refrained from violence and abuse, told the truth and did not steal from others, depriving them of their property, to name a few.

Metal Relic Revealing A Picture Of Jesus And Mary

October 31. 2011

A relic has been unearthed in Israel, revealing a portrait of Jesus and Mary on a small book. The find is quite remarkable and its survival after all this time just as great. A number of impressive archaeological relics supporting the Bible have been found in Israel and I hope it is a tradition that will continue.

Obama Keeps Betraying The Church

 February 28, 2011

Barack Obama

U.S. President, Barack Obama, has been betraying the church, via going back on a number of promises he made voters, such as not attempting to make gay marriage legal and lifting the ban on stem cell research (running gruesome experiments on baby embryos). Obama stated he is a Christian and claims “Jesus” as Savior, but after he got into office, he began openly going against the Bible, also known as the “Word of God.”

The church played a major role in electing Obama in 2008, as one cannot become President of the United States without the Christian vote, due to America having a Christian majority. However, ever since Obama has taken office, he has spit on the church with decision after decision, from proclaiming America is not a Christian nation, to his latest backslidden act, of pushing for gay marriage, in a bid to repay his Hollywood campaign donors.

With each new betrayal of the Bible, Obama is giving more credence to public claims he is not a Christian and used it as a mean to get elected President. The church needs to wake up and get wise to what is happening, before all Christians hold dear is destroyed. The Lord said in the Bible “You shall know them by their deeds” which means one can tell a Christian by what he or she does, not by what he or she says.

Joel Osteen Answers Tough Questions On CNN

 January 31, 2011

Piers Morgan (left) and Victoria and Joel Osteen (right)

Preacher Joel Osteen made an appearance on the Hollywood backed “Piers Morgan Tonight” with his wife Victoria Osteen and answered a number of tough questions. When asked whether homosexuality is a sin, Osteen responded “yes” as that is what the Bible states.

Victoria and Joel Osteen

He was very kind in his answer, offering gays to change their lifestyle to be in compliance with what the Bible says, as God can forgive them. Contrary to what some, such as singer Lady GaGa, claim on songs such as “Born This Way” – God does not send people into this world gay – it is a choice. There is no credible scientific proof to the contrary. However, God is merciful and forgiving, but repentance is required.

Charity Work

 November 30, 2010

Charity work is one of the fundamentals of Christian life. Jesus gave of Himself and His time. Charity does not have to be on a grand scale. The smallest act of kindness towards another is a positive step in the right direction.

We live in such a troubled world, where there aren’t many assurances, but the love of God is guaranteed. You can also give of yourself to help others and make our world better. Jesus stated in the Bible, when you give to others, even those society unkindly deems the least, it is as though you are giving to Him and you will be rewarded.

The Chilean Miners Jesus Shirts

 October 31, 2010

Chilean miners

The 33 Chilean miners that were stuck a mile beneath the earth’s surface for several weeks, sported Jesus t-shirts when their miraculous rescue was captured on television. Many prayed for their safe rescue. When it happened and they emerged, it was a moment of joy for people all over the world. God bless them.

Miners Clad in Jesus Shirts Give Glory to God

Fri, Oct. 15 2010 01:13 PM EDT – When the 33 trapped miners in Chile emerged from underground, at least two dozen of them were wearing T-shirts that proclaimed “Gracias Senor,” or “Thank you Lord.” Christian Maureira, national director of Campus Crusade for Christ in Chile, who helped provide the shirts, said the miners wanted to recognize and thank God publicly as the world watched the anticipated rescue this week…

“Thank you for this tremendous blessing for me and my coworkers. It will be good for our spiritual edification. I am fine because Christ lives in me,” Henriquez, who is part of a Pentecostal church, wrote. He also quoted the Old Testament passage Psalms 95:4 – “In His hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to Him.” That passage was printed on the back of the T-shirts that a majority of the miners wore as they were pulled out to safety this week.

Study: Prayer Heals

  September 30, 2010

A recently published mainstream study stated “Prayer Heals.” This is something Christians have known for centuries. Many Christians have witnessed as people struggling with life threatening infirmities, made miraculous recoveries. Christians have experienced this as well. Faith is able to make a tremendous difference in people’s lives and should never be underestimated.

Prayer heals, study finds

Prayer heals when it’s close-up and personal, and there’s a study to prove it. It’s not just any kind of prayer, but “proximal intercessory prayer,” or PIP — when one or more people pray for someone in that person’s presence and often with physical contact — that was found by a team of doctors, scientists and religious experts to have remarkable results in healing some patients.

A team of medical doctors and scientists led by Indiana University professor of religion Candy Gunther Brown found in the study, conducted in rural Mozambique, that prayer brought “highly significant” improvements to hearing-impaired participants and significant changes to the visually impaired…

Christian Woman Deters Thief Through Jesus

 July 31, 2010

A MetroPCS store manager in South Florida, Nayara Goncalves, 20, deterred a thief from robbing a store at gunpoint, by telling him about faith in Jesus. He was overcome by her testimony and changed his mind about robbing the store. A wonderful ending to what could have been a sad story. Here’s hoping the robber turns his life around and asks God for forgiveness.

The Face Of Jesus Recreated From Burial Shroud

March 31, 2010

The History Channel is prepping an amazing documentary for an April 3, 2010 release, entitled “The Real Face Of Jesus.” The Shroud Of Turin, which is the linen garment the body of Jesus is said to have been wrapped in, after He was crucified, three days before He rose from the dead, was examined by forensic experts, who discovered an imprint.

Using modern technology, the imprint was transferred to computer to create a digital recreation of what He is believed to look like. The computer rendered, illustrated photographs are amazing. On the one hand, it makes you want to cry at the brutalization He endured, but at the same time, it is a reminder of His sacrifice for humanity.

Many people have painted Jesus as blond with blue eyes, but in the photos, He is much like the Bible describes Him – a Jewish man with wooly hair. Though He appears somewhat pale in some photos, He also has tanned skin, due to the region He came from and the fact He walked everywhere. I think His facial features, as shown in the Shroud photographs are impressive.

At the end of the day, when Someone so blesses your life and saves your soul, what He looks like could never be an issue.

P.S. – there is a British actor the reconstructed face of Jesus resembles, but I am struggling to recall his name at the moment. If I remember it, I will update the article.

Update 4-1-10 @ 12:37 AM – in the second photograph, the lower half of the forensically reconstructed Face has a slight resemblance to actor Jeremy Northam.

Leaving The KKK Behind

December 31, 2009

God can change anyone for the better. Former KKK hate group member, Richard Harris, left the organization, touched by the grace of God, compelling his heart to make a change. Today he in an author and pastor of the Living Hope Community Church in Lakeland.

The Bible says of Jesus, “Whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved” – meaning through faith in Jesus and changing one’s unethical ways, salvation can be obtained. It is a guarantee that when this life is over, you will go to heaven forever in the next one.

Gospel Delivers Lakeland Pastor From KKK to God

Last Modified: Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 11:14 p.m. – Richard Harris, pastor of Living Hope Community Church in Lakeland, wrote “One Nation Under Curse” about his days as a member of the KKK in Indiana and how he was called to his religious faith.

The photo shows a skinny, shaggy-haired teenager with huge 1970s-era glasses. He’s wearing a white satin robe and on it is the insignia of the Ku Klux Klan.

The Rev. Richard C. Harris shakes his head slightly. “It’s hard to believe it was really me because I don’t have those beliefs anymore,” he said…

Harris, pastor of Living Hope Community Church in Lakeland, has been out of the Klan for more than 30 years now. He has been speaking out against the Klan and its racism for a long time, but he just published a book about his years in the KKK, “One Nation Under Curse,” which has landed him guest appearances on numerous nationally syndicated radio talk shows.

The “curse” he refers to – a word employed by the Klan with pride – is racism. With the election of Barack Obama as president, some might think that racism in America is a thing of the past, but Harris emphatically disagrees.

“The Emancipation Proclamation didn’t do it. The Civil War didn’t do it. The civil rights movement didn’t do it. I’m sorry, but a black man in the White House is not going to change the racial tensions inbred in this country,” he said…
