Superstition And Luck vs. Faith And Hard Work

January 23. 2018

Superstitions can drive unhealthy reactions and behaviors in people, detrimental to their well-being. People grow up with superstitions and folklore that keeps them in emotional and mental bondage to ideas that are not scientific.

Some practice Voodoo, Obeah, JuJu, Santeria and other forms of the occult, believing it can bring success to them and disastrous results to their enemies. However, it falls under the occult and witchcraft, which the Bible forbids.

Some cultures fear certain animals as bad luck. For instance, some cultures believe black cats bad luck. Some see them as evil. They have come to represent evil in modern western cultures and in Africa nations. However, centuries ago, in some cultures people believed black cats were good luck (Irish, English and the French).

I don’t believe in luck. I do believe in God. I do believe in miracles, as I have seen God change things for the better in what seemed like impossible situations, by responding to people’s prayers, including my own, improving what was thought to be insurmountable circumstances. I do believe if you pray, work hard and have a a good heart, no matter how difficult life may get, you will make it and overcome. Good things will come to you.

The Bible never said life would be easy. We live in a troubled world, due to the acts of those who do unethical things to others. However, we are not to let those circumstances defeat us. Ultimately, evil will never triumph over good. It may look like evil is winning at times, but justice always comes and many times when we least expect it and from unlikely sources.

The Bible also forbids fortunetelling, but people pay alleged psychics to tell them the future. The best thing you can do is build the best future you can, rather than holding on to the worlds of someone who is telling you things to get your money. You can’t live in worry and fear based on what others tell you. You can’t hinge your hopes on superstition and luck.

In modern society people often throw the word “prophet” around for the least little thing that does not meet the true definition of the word. In the Bible the litmus test for someone being a prophet is their words/prophecies/predictions later happening.

People in the Bible such as Abraham, Joseph, Jeremiah, Isaiah and Daniel knew the future, because God showed it to them in dreams while they slept at night and through visions, then these things happened in real life when they were awake. There are a few people with these types of gifts.

That wasn’t luck or fortunetelling. They didn’t abuse their gifts either by charging people to tell them the future. Their dreams, visions and predictions were also not to be unethically exploited, twisted or disregarded by others, as that would be detrimental (see: the stubborn, hardhearted Pharaoh).

For the unbelieving skeptics, there are select scientists and inventors who in modem times dreamed things in their sleep that they went on to invent or scientific mysteries they unraveled that helped humanity (Albert Einstein, Frederick Banting, Niels Bohr, Elias Howe, Otto Loewi, August Kekule).

Some of the world’s top scientific discoveries came from dreams scientists had while sleeping at night. I like to think of it as God’s way of nudging humanity in the right direction by explaining the unexplained through vessels of His choosing.

Many amazing things have happened in human history. We must maintain a positive and hopeful attitude towards the future. Have faith in God. Be practical in your assessment and conduct regarding what you are doing in life regarding accomplishing your goals. If you are not where you want to be, pray and ask God for help and breakthroughs. Be a hard worker and do good to others. That good will return to you. Once again, you will make it. You have to believe and never give up hope.

All Roads Do Not Lead To God But There Is Hope

June 30, 2017

The 19th century painting Transfiguration of Jesus by Carl Bloch

Some people state all roads lead to God. However, that is incorrect. The Bible plainly states of Jesus, who is defined as God “Put no other gods before Me.” The Bible makes clear the only Gods that exist are the Holy Trinity of God the Father,  Son and Holy Spirit.

The Bible makes reference to “gods” that are not real, but forbidden idols people created and mislabled “gods.” It is one of the reasons God forbade His people to intermarry with others of non-Bible religions. God knew that a person in love is sometimes susceptible and swayed by the beliefs or lack thereof of their partner. Some men have turned atheist under the toxic nagging of their faithless girlfriends or wives, who belittled their beliefs, regarding their faith in God. It is a massive sin to destroy someone’s faith in God.

Some men have fallen under the influence of women or friends of other religions who, utilizing peer pressure, sway them away from the Faith and into worshiping “idols” some falsely proclaim are “god.” The Bible forbids this, as a massive sin. It is very wrong to turn away from the true God of the Bible. Let no one convince you to do so.

God (Jesus) makes it clear, His blessing is over His people who believe in Him and those who depart from the faith lose the blessings and favor of God. I implore you to return to the true Gods of the Bible – God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit. Your blessings in this life and your soul in the next life depend on it. Don’t wait until it is too late, as no one is promised tomorrow. However, through faith in God and changing your ways you are guaranteed heaven.

12-Year-Old Girl Testifies Before School Board About Rogue Teacher Who Tried To Force Her To Deny God Exists (Video)

October 31, 2015

12-year-old 7th grade West Memorial Junior High school student, Jordan Wooley, had her rights violated by a her teacher, who is an atheist that ordered her to deny God exists or receive a failing grade in school. This was unlawful conduct on the part of her teacher, as each person has the constitutional right to believe in what they choose.  There is also the “separation of church and state” in America, meaning keep your nose out of other people’s religion and let people choose what they want.

Jordan Woolery

Woolery was asked to chose what is “fact, assertion or opinion” regarding the sentence, “There is a God.” Woolery marked it as “fact” which is her belief (and mine) and was given a failing grade by her teacher, who had willfully violated the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

Jordan Woolery testifying to the school board about her teacher trying to force her to deny the existence of God or receive a failing grade

This was a cruel thing to do to a child (or anyone for that matter) as the Bible instructs adherents not to deny God’s existence or the faith. The teacher in question should be fired for trying to force atheism on a student and causing a child distress.  It was arrogant, out of line, highly disrespectful and deserves to be addressed in a court of law. Said misconduct deserves to be legally struck down in court to avoid repeat occurrences. If you want to deny God’s existence, that’s your business. However, trying to force a child to do the same or you will abuse your post as teacher to punish them is unethical, unbecoming and going too far.  Children are in school to learn. Do not bring unpleasantness, discrimination and bigotry into the classroom.

The Perils Of Dating Or Marrying Outside The Faith

January 31, 2014

Be Careful Of Relationships And Love Interests That Lure You Away From The Faith And God’s Blessings

Falling in love can be a powerful thing. Sometimes you think it’s love, when it’s lust and infatuation wreaking havoc on your hormones and emotions. Some are so taken with how their love interest looks, they overlook blaring problems in their relationship.

Most people want to date and or marry someone they deem gorgeous, as physical attraction is apart of love. There’s nothing wrong with that. However, being pretty on the outside, but ugly at heart is not good or desirable.

Some relationships are not of God. People sometimes try to force relationships that God never intended. All the signs are there that you two are not compatible and there are significant differences, but focusing on looks, you overlook serious flaws.

God is sending you warning signs that there is trouble ahead, but you’re not paying attention, trying to make something fit that was not meant to be. Stop trying to make a dating relationship work with a person not of the faith that God never intended you to be with.

The Lord would not put you with an unbeliever or someone trying to lead you into another religion. God would not give you someone doing that. As a dating principle, the word of God instructs, “Be not mismated with unbelievers.” This means not dating and or marrying people who are not of the Christian faith, as it is a Bible principle.

There are many examples of believers who have fallen in love and gone off with people who are not Christians and it led to heartbreak, trouble, contention, strife, regret and them straying from their principles and beliefs, to their own detriment.

God put his blessings over your life, do not jeopardize that over a good looking face, with a faithless heart. That’s not God’s plan for your life. God would never do that, as it goes against His word (the Bible). You’ve been lead astray by physical attraction. That’s not real love.

What seemed passionate and exciting at first, becomes a nightmare when the non-Christian you are dating then marry, starts disrespecting and belittling your beliefs and discouraging your hopes and dreams.

Significant problems will arise when they start asking you to compromise what you believe (to suit them). And don’t think you will change them, because you won’t. It will not end well.

Some of you are dating people not of the faith, whom you will marry and they will end up leading you away from the faith and straight into disaster.

God has loved you since you were born. Do not abandon the faith over a pretty face or handsome man, as looks fade, but what’s in the heart never does.

In 10-years (or less) their looks will begin to change (as does everybody’s) and you will be in a marriage that is supposed to be for life, with someone you are not compatible with and the very thing you married them for, their looks, have begun to fade.

Make sure you marry a Christian and one you are truly in love with. To do otherwise will wreak havoc on your marriage and life. When you love and are compatible with someone,  bonded by the faith, even as time goes by, you will still love them. That love will grow. These are the marriages that last.

What happens when you marry a person not of the faith and they try to take over your life and change you into something you are not, wanting you to become something you are not comfortable with. Do you know how aggravating, distressing and upsetting that has been for Christians who have experienced this.

What happens when your faithless significant other tries to raise your children as atheists, to their detriment. What happens when your significant other of another religion tries to raise your children in that religion, rather than Christianity, to their detriment.

The word of God indicates all roads do not lead to God. Are you willing to risk your spiritual well being as well as that of your future children, by marrying someone not of the faith, who will unquestionably try to change your beliefs, offending God in the process.

How will you feel when the person raises your children as unbelievers, instilling pessimism and lack of belief in your offspring. What about your future children’s souls. You should want better for your future children. A life of hope and faith, rich in love, is priceless. It nourishes the soul.

It is and will be the source of arguments and contention, causing you unnecessary pain and frustration in life, all over a physical attraction to someone who is at odds with your faith and the God that made you.

Anyone who would lead you away from the faith doesn’t care about your beliefs or soul nor do they respect you as a person. God would never put you with that person. You are in lust and it is clouding your judgement.

What happens on the other side after you leave this life. What will you tell God regarding having left the faith over an ill-fated relationship He never intended. If you have left the faith, I encourage you to return, as once again, the Bible indicates all roads do not lead to God (only Jesus).

If you are in a dating relationship with a non-Christian, I recommend you end the relationship. It’s going to lead you down a road of regret, as many have found out the hard way.

Pray and ask God to send you the one He intended for you and to confirm it to you in your heart and mind. God does have someone for you. He knows who you are most compatible with, who will compliment you and bring out the best in you. God knows who you will be happiest with – the person who is your ideal mate.

However, God is not going to force His plan for your life on you, as He has given you free will. Choose wisely, as it is important to your life and soul and future of your family.

Christians Constitute Largest Immigrant Group In America

July 31, 2013

According to a recent Pew report, the majority of U.S. immigrants are Christians and the number of Christians has risen over the past twenty years. Currently, Congress is mulling over an immigration bill that will hugely impact the lives of immigrants in the nation. Some in Congress oppose amnesty, while others seek to lay out a path to citizenship.

Polling and Analysis – Religious Affiliation of U.S. Immigrants: Majority Christian, Rising Share of Other Faiths

…While Christians continue to make up a majority of legal immigrants to the U.S., the estimated share of new legal permanent residents who are Christian declined from 68% in 1992 to 61% in 2012… unauthorized immigrants, by contrast, come primarily from Latin America and the Caribbean, and the overwhelming majority of them – an estimated 83% – are Christian. That share is slightly higher than the percentage of Christians in the U.S. population as a whole (estimated at just under 80% of U.S. residents of all ages, as of 2010). These are among the key findings of a new study by the Pew Research Center’s Forum on Religion & Public Life examining recent trends in the geographic origins and religious affiliation of immigrants to the United States.

Christian Pastor’s Throat Slit For Refusing To Denounce Jesus As His Students Are Gunned Down In Nigeria

June 30, 2013

A brave Christian pastor in Nigeria was viciously killed by the terrorist group Boko Haram, for refusing to renounce his faith in Jesus Christ. The Islamic fundamentalists stormed his church, while teenage students were taking school exams. According to reports, Boko Haram, a terror group the Nigerian government has denounced, is against “Western education.” As a result, senseless violence ensued, via the terrorists gunning down the unarmed, defenseless young students and killing their pastor.

Populous and oil rich Nigeria is half Christian and half Muslim. Boko Haram, funded by criminal activities forbidden by law, has incited acts of violence against peaceful Christians in Nigeria, leaving 3,000 of our brothers and sisters in the faith dead this year. As Christians we must continually pray for Nigeria and other regions of the world, such as the Middle East, where people of the faith face persecution and death for our peaceful beliefs.

Islamic Extremists Slit Christian Pastor’s Throat for Refusing to Renounce His Faith, Gun Down Teens as Horror Rages in Nigeria

Jun. 26, 2013 7:30am LAGOS, Nigeria (TheBlaze/AP) — The pastor would not renounce his Christian faith so the Islamic extremists slit his throat High school students were taking exams in defiance of the militants of Boko Haram, whose name means “Western education is forbidden.” So the gunmen mowed them down at their desks.

The group that Nigeria’s government has declared a prohibited terrorist organization “declared war” last week on vigilante youths who have been arresting suspects and handing them over to soldiers fighting to crush the insurgency in the northeast part of Africa’s most populous nation and the continent’s biggest oil producer.
