Jamal Bryant’s Fall From Grace

May 31, 2016

Jamal Bryant

45-year-old university educated pastor Jamal Bryant has experienced an ongoing fall from grace that needs to be corrected. Bryant was once married to beautiful, educated “Real Housewives Of Potomac” reality star, Gizelle Bryant, who is the mother of his 3 children. However, he cheated on her during their marriage with a member of their congregation, who was 17-years-old. The underage girl became pregnant. More recently, Bryant impregnated another woman after his divorce and out of wedlock. There are now claims a woman was pressured into aborting his baby after an affair, but refused and gave birth to his son last summer. The DNA test concludes it is Bryant’s baby.

Pastors should not behave in this manner. The Bible makes it very clear, pastors are in a leadership position and must set a good example. Bryant has admitted there is nothing wrong with his ex-wife, who has been devastated by his unfaithful, disloyal behavior. He decided he was going to engage in sexual behavior he knew to be wrong.  At the end of the day, cheating is a choice, not a compulsion. It can be controlled. In life, you either choose to do the right or wrong thing.

It is a matter of concern that Bryant keeps falling into sexual sin while in the pulpit. This is serious. He needs to stop engaging in behavior the Bible deems wrong, as it is not setting a good example. Bryant needs to ask God for forgiveness, turn his life around and stop setting a bad example as a pastor.

No human is perfect, but to keep getting into the same serious spiritual trouble that has torn his family apart, while trying to teach people the right way to live, is a contradiction that will not yield fruitful results. It cannot be, “Do as I say and not as I do.” Bryant needs to pray and seek counseling for his sexual proclivities and redouble his efforts to live a decent life.

Terrorists Open Fire At A Coptic Christian Wedding In Egypt Killing Adults And A Child

October 31, 2013

Coptic Christian church in Cairo that held a wedding ambushed by violent gunmen

Once again Christianity is under attack in select politically distressed regions of the world. Terrorists opened fire during a Coptic Christian wedding, killing 2 children and 11 adults. The unprovoked ambush and gunfire is inexcusable. What should have been one of the happiest days of a couple’s lives was marred by violence and hatred. Islam is supposed to be a “religion of peace.” Instead fundamentalist Islamists are creating Christian martyrs by murdering innocent people going about their lives, who’ve done them no harm.

Pakistan Christians Issue Call for Protection

Published: September 23, 2013 – LONDON — With its Muslim-style minarets topped by a large black cross, the All Saints Church in Peshawar has for more than a century offered a daring architectural expression of Muslim-Christian harmony and cohabitation. This is how the Taliban destroyed it: two suicide bombers rushed the church doors as worshipers streamed out on Sunday. One attacker exploded his vest inside, the other just outside…

Obama Keeps Betraying The Church

 February 28, 2011

Barack Obama

U.S. President, Barack Obama, has been betraying the church, via going back on a number of promises he made voters, such as not attempting to make gay marriage legal and lifting the ban on stem cell research (running gruesome experiments on baby embryos). Obama stated he is a Christian and claims “Jesus” as Savior, but after he got into office, he began openly going against the Bible, also known as the “Word of God.”

The church played a major role in electing Obama in 2008, as one cannot become President of the United States without the Christian vote, due to America having a Christian majority. However, ever since Obama has taken office, he has spit on the church with decision after decision, from proclaiming America is not a Christian nation, to his latest backslidden act, of pushing for gay marriage, in a bid to repay his Hollywood campaign donors.

With each new betrayal of the Bible, Obama is giving more credence to public claims he is not a Christian and used it as a mean to get elected President. The church needs to wake up and get wise to what is happening, before all Christians hold dear is destroyed. The Lord said in the Bible “You shall know them by their deeds” which means one can tell a Christian by what he or she does, not by what he or she says.

Christians Remain Committed To The Faith P2

April 30, 2009

This is a follow up to last month’s article Christians Remain Committed To The Faith, where I wrote about the inaccuracy of a poll on religion in America, as it had not included illegal immigrants living in the country.

Two weeks later, the National Coalition of Latino Clergy and Christian Leaders revealed 3,400,000 of their church worshippers are undocumented immigrants living in the United States.

There are millions more at other churches all across America, who’ve welcomed immigrants of all ethnicities and nationalities. They are all people too.  Most illegal immigrants do not speak to the Census Bureau for fear of being deported and as a result are not counted. Once again, Christianity’s numbers have gone up, not down.

Hispanic groups call for Census boycott

Some Hispanic advocacy groups are calling for illegal immigrants to boycott the 2010 Census unless immigration laws are changed. The move puts them at odds with leading immigrant rights advocates and creates another hurdle in the Census Bureau’s quest to count everyone in the USA.

The National Coalition of Latino Clergy & Christian Leaders, a group that says it represents 20,000 evangelical churches in 34 states, issued a statement this week urging undocumented immigrants not to fill out Census forms unless Congress passes “genuine immigration reform.”

Similar grass-roots campaigns are unfolding in Arizona and New Mexico to protest state and local crackdowns on illegal immigrants. Asking immigrants to be counted without giving them a chance to become legal residents counters church teachings, says the Rev. Miguel Rivera, president of the Latino religious coalition.

When the Census counts growing numbers of Hispanics, the counts are often used to support crackdowns on illegal immigrants, he says. About 38% of the churches’ 3.4 million members are undocumented, he says…

The World’s First Church

June 30, 2008

Archaeologists have discovered the ancient ruins of what they believe is the world’s first church:

Jordan archaeologists unearth ‘world’s first church’

Jun 10 09:27 AM US/Eastern – Archaeologists in Jordan have unearthed what they claim is the world’s first church, dating back almost 2,000 years, The Jordan Times reported on Tuesday.

“We have uncovered what we believe to be the first church in the world, dating from 33 AD to 70 AD,” the head of Jordan’s Rihab Centre for Archaeological Studies, Abdul Qader al-Husan, said. He said it was uncovered under Saint Georgeous Church, which itself dates back to 230 AD, in Rihab in northern Jordan near the Syrian border.

“We have evidence to believe this church sheltered the early Christians — the 70 disciples of Jesus Christ,” Husan said. These Christians, who are described in a mosaic as “the 70 beloved by God and Divine,” are said to have fled persecution in Jerusalem and founded churches in northern Jordan, Husan added.

Openly Wrong

September 29, 2007

Openly gay minister, Michelle Strecker, practicing in the church in contradiction to the Bible (photo courtesy of the Toldeo Blade)

There was new controversy in the Presbyterian Church this week regarding the ordination of gay priests, as the Bible forbids it.  This practice contravenes the Bible, as God spoke of homosexuality as a sin that one should turn from and ask for forgiveness regarding.

Contrary to what some in Hollywood try to drum into the public’s consciousness, people are not born gay. It is a choice. While God grants us all free will, to ordain a gay minister is a flagrant violation of the Bible. God’s grace will not be over the church that does this. It is in the New Testament. Furthermore, the Old Testament writes of God’s standards in this regard.

Preachers, bishops and priests are held to a higher standard and openly contradicting God’s word is to willfully fall short of the tenets of faith. This is not to condemn anyone, as God offers you the chance to turn from homosexuality and all other sexual sins, such as adultery and fornication.

The Bible says “All have sinned” and this is true. However, once we are given the truth via the word of God, we must make a change for the better to be instep with the Lord.

Members of a regional body in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) have rejected a proposal supporting gay ordination.

Maumee Valley Presbytery, the PC(USA) body of northwestern Ohio and southeastern Michigan, voted 61-56 on Tuesday against the proposal and held off a vote on a more specific ban against the ordination of gays and lesbians until November.

“We lost,” said the Rev. Michelle Stecker, the only openly gay ordained minister in the regional body, according to The Toledo Blade.
