This month it was reported the Al Qaeda linked terrorist group Boko Haram killed 2,000 people in the town of Baga in northeastern Nigeria. Baga residents’ were killed and the town set on fire.
Nigeria is approximately half Christian and half Muslim. Compendius has written about Boko Haram for years and the danger they pose to Christians in Nigeria, who do not submit to their will. For the past few years, Boko Haram has killed thousands of Christians. This month’s attack on Baga has surpassed last year’s entire death count.
Nigeria needs international help to combat the threat from Boko Haram. Innocent people cannot continue to be slaughtered for their beliefs by a merciless terror group. Something must be done to help them.
The African Union has volunteered 7,500 troops to help Nigeria in the fight against Boko Haram. Technology can also make a big difference in military maneuvers against Boko Haram. Humanitarian aid will be needed as well to help the injured and displaced.
Terrorism is on the rise around the world, evidence by the Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris, ISIS kidnappings and murders, as well as numerous suicide bombings in the Middle East.

Boko Haram has struck again in Nigeria. New reports indicate 50 innocent college student were murdered in their dormitory by Boko Haram, as the terrorist sect opposes “Western education.” The Nigerian government has beefed up security at Nigerian schools in the wake of the incident.
Nigeria is approximately half Christian and half Muslim, with Boko Haram trying through violence and murder, to impose Sharia law upon the entire nation of 170,000,0000 people. Nigeria is sitting on massive oil reserves, making them Africa’s largest producer – another aspect of the equation Boko Haram seeks to control.
The month, fellow African nation, Kenya, faced a horrible, unconscionable terrorist attack at the Westgate Mall in Nairobi, where Somali terrorist group al Shabaab heinously executed shoppers who could not recite a verse of the Koran, the book of the Muslim religion. Children were found dead in mall freezers with knives stuck in their bodies. Men and women were tortured, eyes gouged out and limbs removed in the despicable attack.

According to reports, Boko Haram, a terror group the Nigerian government has denounced, is against “Western education.” As a result, senseless violence ensued, via the terrorists gunning down the unarmed, defenseless young students and killing their pastor.
Populous and oil rich Nigeria is half Christian and half Muslim. Boko Haram, funded by criminal activities forbidden by law, has incited acts of violence against peaceful Christians in Nigeria, leaving 3,000 of our brothers and sisters in the faith dead this year. As Christians we must continually pray for Nigeria and other regions of the world, such as the Middle East, where people of the faith face persecution and death for our peaceful beliefs.

For the past couple years, Compendius has written about the persecution and killing of Christians in select parts of the world. As Christians we must all embrace each others’ struggle and pray and proactively work to improve things for our brothers and sisters in the faith worldwide.
The terrorist group Boko Haram has been slaughtering Christians in Nigeria in big numbers, in conduct that must desist. Nigeria is half Christian and half Muslim. According to the Baptist Press, “The publicly reported Christian casualties in Nigeria last year were greater than the Christian casualties of Pakistan, Syria, Kenya and Egypt combined. In fact, Nigeria alone accounted for almost 70 percent of Christians killed globally. This makes Nigeria the most lethal country for Christians by a huge margin.”
